Originally the front parlor of the old Second Empire house, the Tennessee Williams Room is nowadays an excellent
accommodation for guests who like to see what is going on outside. The large bay windows facing Johnson Street
give plenty of natural light and fresh air. We are sure the poet would have loved to sit on the windowsill and
watch the men parade the street.
Tennessee Williams is another playwright who has left his mark on Provincetown and therefore we have dedicated a room to his honor. First arriving in town in 1940, Williams returned many times after creating new works while here and also having his creations performed by local theatre groups. Williams was fond of the beautiful young men who frequented the town and even dedicated a collection of short stories to one who stole his heart.
