It's that time of year again - winter is transitioning to spring, and the summer is just around the corner. It has been a great winter for us. We have fully renovated Namaste Spa, and redone bathrooms in some of our rooms. The results have been fantastic, and it is all part of our commitment to continually renew and improve Carpe Diem Guesthouse and Spa. We had sold out weekends in February, and the spa buzzed along nicely throughout. All in all, we are well prepared for another fantastic year at the Inn, and look forward to welcoming back so many of our return guests, and all the folks joining us for the first time.
The early spring is a wonderful time in Provincetown. While the busyness of summer is yet to come, our guests join us for the quieter, more reflective season as the sun returns and town gets busier. Our March and April weekends are always popular, with so many things to do in town.
Exploring the Cape Cod National Seashore (www.nps.gov/caco/index.htm) is wonderful at this time of year. The wildlife is abundant, the trails are beautiful, and as the whales return they can often be spotted from shore at Race Point Beach. Bring your bicycle and cycle through the dunes, or stroll through Beech Forest and see the signs of spring.
The Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum (www.pilgrim-monument.org/) reopens on March 31st, with new events and the best view in town.
The Provincetown Art Association and Museum (PAAM) (www.paam.org/) has events planned throughout the spring, providing a view to the arts in Provincetown and the world. This has always been a favorite of our guests.
Art galleries are open on the weekends along the East End of town, and many of the shops are open as well, with pre-season sales and new offerings.
There is no shortage of fine restaurants open at this time of year, providing the fine dining experience to all of our guests.
A perennial favorite of guests at Carpe Diem Guesthouse is The Mews (mews.com/), with their great menu and charming atmosphere.
Ross' Grill (www.rossgrillptown.com/) is open as well, with its magnificent view of the harbor and the finest wine selection available on Cape Cod. We especially recommend their calamari, the best we have ever had anywhere!
Just around the corner is Spindler's (www.spindlersptown.com/), with their well crafted menu and cocktail creations such as you'd see in the best lounges worldwide.
For those with a stronger seafood interest we always recommend Mac's Fish House (www.macsseafood.com/restaurants/macs-provincetown), with their fresh fish, jovial atmosphere and the best sushi available in town.
At lunchtime we always recommend Fanizzi's (fanizzisrestaurant.com/), right on the water with a lively crowd and a casual atmosphere.
Also right around the corner is The Squealing Pig (www.facebook.com/TheSquealingPigProvincetown), a great gastropub with a wide selection of beers and great food. Personally, I always recommend the lamb burger!
And of course, the ever popular Canteen (www.thecanteenptown.com/), with their fresh menu and their weekly special menus in the pre-summer season. Their Indian week was fantastic.
This of course is not a comprehensive list of all the restaurants that are open at this time of year - there are many more choices as well. Talk to us at the front desk at Carpe Diem Guesthouse and Spa and let us know what you are looking for, and we will guide you to the right place!
As always, Namaste Spa at Carpe Diem Guesthouse is a key part of any visitor's stay with us. Namaste Spa offers a wide range of massage, skin treatments and other services. Guests of Carpe Diem can use the spa facilities for free, including a hot tub, sunbathing area, two dry saunas and a Moroccan Hamam steam room. The spa is clothing optional in the European tradition, and is a great way to relax in an off season stay. Book your treatments at namastespaprovincetown.com, or contact the front desk to inquire further.
Guests who book directly with Carpe Diem Guesthouse and Spa are guaranteed the best prices available, rather than booking through a third party site. The summer season is booking up fast, so book soon to ensure you get the dates and rooms you want.
We look forward to welcoming you in the months to come, and hope you join us for a fantastic spring and summer!
Sincerely, the entire Carpe Diem Team
